AZZALURE GLOBAL SUPPLY ISSUE - UPDATE

2nd July, 2019 - Time 12:30

Dear Valued Customer

As per our announcement made on the 26th June 2019, Church Pharmacy had been informed by Galderma that there had been difficulties in supplying the forecasted June Azzalure stock to Church Pharmacy in June, and Church Pharmacy should expect delivery of any more Azzalure by the 1st July.

Unfortunately, we are yet to receive an Azzalure delivery from Galderma. Church Pharmacy have not received an update as to why there has been a further delay as yet. We will endeavour to keep you posted on when we can expect the outstanding Azzalure to be delivered.

In the meantime, we regretfully have been forced to extend the current Azzalure quotas in place due to low stock levels of Azzalure we currently hold.

Azzalure quota limits which continue to be in place are as follows:

The quota limit per patient is 2 x 125 Speywood unit vials of Azzalure.

The quota limit per customer account is 2 x 125 Speywood unit vials of Azzalure.

Quota limit in place on Azzalure Speywood units vials is from 26th June 2019 until further notice and are subject to change based on any further Azzalure deliveries from Galderma UK. Contact us for more info.

Azzalure Global Supply Issue

26th June, 2019

Unfortunately, Galderma UK has set supply restrictions on Church Pharmacy for Azzalure, therefore, we regretfully have had no choice but to introduce quotas on Azzalure supply to our customers from today.

We have expressed to Galderma UK that their decision on restricting supply may affect our customer's clinics and patient treatments but unfortunately supply is still restricted at this time based on their reasons of “Ipsen’s global manufacturing plant is currently having difficulties in meeting demand for Azzalure".

Temporary quota limits which are now in place are as follows:

The quota limit per patient is 2 x 125 Speywood unit vials of Azzalure.

The quota limit per customer account is 2 x 125* Speywood unit vials of Azzalure (*Revised on 27.6.19).

Quota limit in place on Azzalure Speywood units vials from 26th June 2019 until end of 2nd July 2019 and are subject to change based on any further Azzalure deliveries from Galderma UK.

You may recall we had to temporarily introduce such quota limits in late 2017 when Galderma was experiencing similar supply chain issues and we were under the impression this would never happen again with improved forecasting but unfortunately it has occurred again to the Azzalure product.

We hope the situation is resolved next week by Galderma that all pharmacies receive the outstanding Azzalure stock.

We apologies to all our customers who use Azzalure and are being affected by Galderma's decision but we have been informed by Galderma UK that we should expect more Azzalure stock by the 1st July 2019 however unsure of the time of delivery.

How we can help you?

Taking the above Azzalure news into account, we have a responsibility to our customers on providing the best possible service, after all that is why you chose to order from us (rather than other pharmacies who may be stocking Azzalure) and on this basis, we would request for you to contact our customer services team on how we may be able to mitigate the disruptive risk of the latest supply issues of Azzalure.

Azzalure & Restylane Price Rises:

We have been informed by Galderma that the Azzalure and Restylane prices will increase to all distributors from 1st July 2019, as a result of Galderma's decision, unfortunately prices are expected to rise over the coming weeks with Azzalure and Restylane across the sector.

We have always tried to serve you in the best possible way and If you wish to discuss your Church Pharmacy clinic account, please contact us and we will be happy to help to see if we can make savings for you on your overall customer account. We hope we can help work with you on what you feel is best for your clinic needs as a Church Pharmacy customer.

Thank You

Product Compliance Notice

1st March, 2019

Unfortunate news: We have been informed that a pharmaceutical Wholesaler/Pharmacy has recently suffered from a break in. A large quantity of Botulinum Toxins were stolen including Azzalure, Dysport and Botox. https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/botox-style-drug-stolen-from-essex-business-1-5907101

Please report any suspicious activities to the MHRA quoting the case referral reference number INC 15298.

MHRA Case Referral Centre contact details are as follows:

Email - casereferrals@mhra.gov.uk

Telephone - 020 3080 6330

Please be careful where you purchase your medicines from to ensure they are NOT from unofficial 3rd parties.

The Falsified Medicines Directive:

F.M.D recently had an update with its rules whereby medicine wholesalers (including Pharmacies) are required to have F.M.D approved barcode scanning systems in place, the scanning system is used to scan in and out the new 2D barcode on certain medicines (including Toxins) to help tackle the issue with stolen and other falsified medicines in the supply chain.

Church Pharmacy have been compliant with this new F.M.D update since the regulation came into force on the 9th of February 2019 by scanning the relevant 2D barcodes on the medicines packs we are starting to receive from our official supply chain. The scanned barcode data is uploaded to SecurMed to provide us with an instant response back if there are any issues with the medicine pack, if there are no issues, the medicine pack is placed on our stock shelves ready for sale. Once the item is dispensed for a customer, the pack is re-scanned to be decommissioned out of the wholesale supply chain. This data is sent back to SecurMed for traceability and helps to reduce the risk of the pack falling into an unofficial supply chain.

There are other additions with the latest F.M.D regulations such as requirements for medicines to have anti-tamper features which we also check as part of the F.M.D requirements. More info: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/implementing-the-falsified-medicines-directive-safety-features

A Falsified Medicine is not just a Fake Medicine by its contents; Falsified Medicine can be medicine manufactured to the correct standards but have not passed through the official supply chains rendering the medicine and/or the associated paperwork as falsified, this can be dangerous for all sorts of reasons such as a uncertainty in how the products were stored through the unofficial supply chain, handling fraudulent products and issues with traceability and potential future recalls if needed.

Be careful where you buy your medicines from and report suspicious activities to the MHRA such as companies offering you toxins (which may have been stolen).

Be safe, use official UK distributors to be confident of the official supply chain.

Important update on Hospira Bacteriostatic Saline 30ml (Unlicensed medicine) quota:

As you will be aware there is a UK wide importation issue with Hospira Bacteriostatic Saline 30ml (which is an Unlicensed medicine) due to manufacturer’s delays.

Come and see us at the Aesthetics Conference & Exhibition – Stand 13

21st February, 2019

Church Pharmacy are thrilled to be attending the Aesthetics Conference & Exhibition 2019 once again this year. We have so many exciting opportunities to share with you and cannot wait to welcome you to our stand. You can have a sneak peak below of what we have coming.
Optimising Patients Plasma Results with Growth Factors
with Dr. Shirin Lakhani & Dr. Beatriz Molina
Masterclass: Saturday 2nd March 2019 14:00 – 15:00
Dr. Shirin Lakhani
Dr. Beatriz Molina
Plasma has a number of modalities for use in Aesthetics. This session will be looking at using stem cell-derived growth factors in conjunction with two modalities; Plasma Blepharoplasty and Plasma Shower, to optimize patients experience and results. Our understanding of growth factors, although not an entirely new concept to the field, has come on leaps and bounds in the last decade and we are now seeing outstanding new developments in their usage and capabilities. The session will be looking in particular at growth factors sourced from mammalian umbilical cord lining stem cells and the parameters by which to analyse the potential efficacy of a growth factor product will be discussed.
Dr. Shirin Lakhani and Dr. Beatriz Molina are thought leaders in the UK when it comes to Plasma treatments and will be sharing how they have integrated these growth factors into their treatment protocols to reduce downtime, minimize the chance of complications and finally give enhanced aesthetic results to their patients.
Plasma Blepharoplasty is ever increasing in popularity with many patients preferring to avoid surgical blepharoplasty, although for some patients the downtime can be unacceptable in terms of both time and discomfort. There is also the potential for complications from infection when dealing with extended recovery periods. Dr. Shirin Lakhani will share her experience on how she has fine-tuned her plasma blepharoplasty protocol to greatly reduce this downtime and chance of complications to enhance patient satisfaction.
Plasma Shower treatments have a number of different indications; acne, pigmentation, skin tightening and rejuvenation without any skin irritation or downtime. Dr. Beatriz Molina will be giving an insight into her experience with Plasma Shower to treat acne and also as a rejuvenating treatment. Plasma Shower although non-ablative can be used as a delivery system for creams and serums to optimize their absorption by the skin. As such the introduction of a balanced growth factor product can yield outstanding results when paired with this treatment.
The session will also contain a live demonstration of the plasma shower paired with stem cell-derived growth factors.
Daily Vitamin Therapy – A New look at advanced antioxidants for the skin
with Dr. David Rouse
Expert Clinic: Friday 1st March 2019 16:15 – 16:45
Dr. David Rouse
Join PCA SKIN, innovators and leaders in skin science since 1990 and discover why the daily use of topical Vitamin C and E paired with super antioxidants silymarin and hexylresorcinol is the key to stronger, brighter and more luminous skin. The session will take you on a journey to demonstrate how two new hero molecules are changing the future of topical formulations. You will also learn the importance of how this powerful blend of efficacious antioxidant ingredients repair, protect and prevent damage, resulting in visibly younger looking skin, diminished dark spots and a healthier complexion.

Restylane Hologram

7th February, 2018

HOW TO RECOGNISE AN ORIGINAL

Dear Customer,

From January 2018, you will notice a new hologram sticker on all boxes of Galderma fillers. This affects the full Restylane portfolio of NASHA and OBT products as well as the Skinboosters range.

We have taken this step as an anti-counterfeiting measure to protect our distributors, our customers and our consumers. The continued growth and success of the Restylane brands mean there is an increasing risk of bogus products into the UK market and during 2017, we intercepted a number of counterfeit products from various locations destined for the UK.

The new sticker is applied at the Galderma warehouse in the UK. This guarantees the product is genuine Galderma stock from the UK and has been delivered to our authorised distributors subject to the correct conditions.

Galderma hope that you are reassured by this positive measure and our continued commitment to delivering the highest quality products.

Annual Survey Results

31st January, 2018

ANNUAL SURVEY RESULTS

Important information for Azzalure practitioners:

19th December, 2017

Important information for Azzalure Practitioners:

Dear Azzalure practitioners,

Galderma UK Ltd have made some slight changes to the Azzalure vial, which do not change the product properties or qualities.

The changes are subtle and may not be noticed, but to be clear Galderma has confirmed these to be:

  • A harder stopper to match the latest industry standards.
  • A stronger vial vacuum by using a slightly smaller vial size, however the volume of product remains the same.

Please be assured that Azzalure remains the same product manufactured in the U.K., and no other updates have been made.

The new vials are now in circulation, so you can expect to receive these in your orders.

The quality and safety of products continues to be of utmost importance to both Church Pharmacy and Galderma.

We have received reports from clients that the neck of the new vial is too small in diameter to allow drawing up with 0.5ml and 0.3ml insulin syringes with integrated needles and cuffs, used by most aesthetic practitioners.

As such we have consulted with a Doctor who is not a representative of Galderma or Church Pharmacy, who has confirmed that:

  • The 1.0ml insulin syringes pass easily into the new vials as they are designed differently and do not have cuffs, however the 0.02ml graduations on these syringes may not be suitable for certain doses.
  • The 1.0ml Azzalure syringes when used with one inch needles will reach all the way into the bottom of the new vial, however it is likely that the needle would need to be swapped to that most suitable for injecting, such as the BD Yellow 30G x 13mm (½") needle, after the product has been reconstituted and drawn up.

Please note it is always important to follow the advice of your Medical Advisor and / or Trainer.

If you have any specific concerns or issues in relation to this announcement, please do not hesitate to contact your local representative.

Any technical complaints and quality enquiries can be sent to medinfo.uk@galderma.com.

Kind regards,

The Church Pharmacy Team
