Church Pharmacy complete the Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge

Our amazing team took part in the Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge on Sunday 24th September and raised £2,067 to help local people in need. The 16-mile trek saw challengers tackle the three highest peaks in the Charnwood countryside - Bardon Hill (Leicestershire’s highest point), Old John in Bradgate and Beacon Hill – and despite the wind and the rain (and a few aching limbs!), the hard miles were worth it in the knowledge we were raising funds for an important cause.

We are so grateful to everyone who supported us through our JustGiving and Give Back Friday fundraising campaigns. Your donations and messages of encouragement were a big motivation for us and made it possible to not only achieve, but surpass our fundraising target, so a big thank you to you all from the Church Pharmacy team!

Every penny of the money raised will go directly to Charity Link, and due to their unique way of working - by untapping funds from charitable trusts - they can turn every £10 donated into £50 of essential items for people in need.

That means the Church Pharmacy team will help to provide £10,335 of essential items which could include food, clothing, beds, cookers and washing machines. For example, the funds we've raised could provide 59 beds for children in need who don’t currently have a bed of their own, which will make a real difference to people like Sonya and Debbie, whose stories you can read here.

Charity Link has raised over £12,500 through this year’s Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge, with the final total expected to be announced later this month. We’re incredibly proud to support this vital cause and congratulate all 3 Peaks challengers for doing the same!
