The Blood Pressure Check is carried out by a qualified clinical pharmacist on-site, inside our consultation room and only takes a couple of minutes to complete. Depending on your blood pressure reading the pharmacist will guide you through the next steps and offer plenty of support and top tips.

Why Get Your Blood Pressure Checked?

Blood pressure is also known as hypertension and is the highest risk factor for heart disease in England. An estimated 5.5 million people have undiagnosed hypertension, early detection is vital to reduce your risk of:

  • Heart disease
  • Heart attack
  • Heart failure
  • Dementia
  • Kidney disease
  • Stroke
Price £: Free eligible criteria applies:*

Adults who are 40 years old or over, who do not have a current diagnosis of hypertension.

Patients, by exception, under the age of 40 who request the service because they have a recognised family history of hypertension may be provided the service at the pharmacist’s discretion.

Patients between 35 and 39 years old requesting the service may be tested at the pharmacist’s discretion; and

Adults specified by their G.P. for the measurement of blood pressure. (Written referral from the G.P. is required).

    Pop in and get your BMI checked.

    The body mass index (BMI) is a measure that uses your height and weight to calculate if your weight is healthy.

    Our trained staff and pharmacist can offer tips and advice on staying healthy and eating well, and referral to the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme, where eligible.

  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

    Do you feel pain or a burning sensation when peeing? or feel you need to urinate more often? are you worried about the colour of your pee? Church Pharmacy have accredited pharmacists, who can provide self-care advice and medication (where required only at the discretion of the pharmacist). Why not drop in to find out more!
