You will be pleased to know we are now able to provide the NHS flu vaccination service at our pharmacy site in Loughborough. The flu vaccine is a pivotal instrument in helping to protect those at risk of flu and its complications.
Please be assured we are practicing hand washing as well as wearing personal protective equipment and adopting social distancing measures where feasible to make sure it is safe for you to have the flu vaccine.
Did you know?
- The flu vaccine helps protect against the main type of flu virus
- The flu vaccine will stop you spreading flu
- The flu vaccine will help to protect you and your baby from flu, if you are pregnant.
- The flu vaccine helps to reduce pressure on the NHS and social care staff
- If you do get flu after being vaccinated, the symptoms are likely to be milder and shorter.
Are you eligible for the free flu vaccine?
The flu vaccine can be given to people who:
- Are 50 and over (including those who will be 50 by 31st March 2022)
- Have certain health conditions, including but not limited to:
- Respiratory e.g. asthma, COPD, including emphysema and bronchitis.
- Diabetes
- Heart e.g. coronary heart disease or heart failure
- Chronic kidney disease
- Liver disease e.g. hepatitis
- A weakened immune system

- Are pregnant
- Are in long-stay residential care
You are also eligible if you are:
- The main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk from flu
- Living with someone who is at high risk from coronavirus
- Frontline health or social care workers

- Qualified Pharmacist on site visit
- Priority booking
- Available to care home residents and staff
- Available for care home friends and family ages 50+ or with certain health conditions which meet eligibility requirements*
